WARRENTON, TX (KTRK) — The family jewels are on display at an antiques show in Fayette County, Texas, this weekend — just not in the way that you would think.
A mother-daughter duo decided that the Best in Show antiques event this weekend should host the town’s first Chippendales performance.
But not everyone there, as KXAN reported, is a fan of the famed male strippers. Several people lined the streets near the event to protest.
Protester Don Maschmeyer said, “Since it is Easter we want to remind people Jesus rose again, not just for himself but for us, so we can rise above certain fleshly activities like this.”
The mom and daughter say they just wanted to give people something fun to do.
Organizer Hanna Welch said, “I don’t know, just to give people in town a little something else to do. You know, there’s a lot of people in this county that may not ever see anything like this again. We didn’t realize it was going to cause this much of an uproar.”
And despite the protest, the show went on last night.
